Probably one of the biggest nightmares of travel is the idea that we arrive at our destination, but our bags don't. Not only that, the airline has no idea where they are. Lost bags. This summer has been quite a travel extravaganza, and that is said kindly. Seems that lots of people who have been cooped up by the pandemic for the past two plus years and have a little extra cash in their pocket are heading out to explore the world. Legion are the articles on how crowded travel is right now, all the difficulty airlines are having keeping pilots and crew and now baggage... A recent quote from a report published over at The Street:
In April, U.S. airlines lost, damaged or delayed over 220,000 checked bags. That number is a 135% increase from a year ago, with American Airlines named as the worst offender with over 70,000 incidents.
Seriously, that's a lot of lost bags. Still dreaming of that trip to the Balearic Islands we mentioned some time ago, better bring a carry on.
